I am always open to research collaborations in areas related to software engineering, (dis)information or public transportation. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to work together.
Current projects
AI4Debunk (2024–2027)
I am a research software engineer on AI4Debunk, a Horizon Europe project that develops human-centred AI tools to help people recognise and counter online disinformation. Together with Franc van der Bent, the principal investigator at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, I am building the Information Reliability Inspection System (IRIS) and several user interfaces that make it easier for European citizens to check content for possible signs of disinformation.
AI4Debunk has received funding from the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101135757.
Past projects
MONA Project (2012–2013)
The Mapping Online Networks of Activism (MONA) project at VU Amsterdam developed tools to extract semantic information – actors, locations, events and timestamps – about climate activism from news articles and blog posts. Following Willem Robert van Hage’s Simple Event Model (SEM), the tools provided interactive visualisations that allowed social scientists to analyse links between activist events.
